I was more or less active with updates on witches.live, and I didn't really have much to compose extensively (that is, on here).

So I passed my first Strategic Professional paper in June (received the results mid-July), and now I'm studying for my September 2019 exam.

Government-enforced compulsory subjects do feel like they're getting in the way, but these are part of the price of attending a private university. Of course, sometimes one is faced with the annoying downside of groupmates who think "UK Essays" is a reliable citation source for a group report.

As for home life, there have been renovations going on, and the workers are such cigarette-chimneys. The smell and secondhand lung-pollution of cigarettes is worse to me than the construction noises (which also aren't as bad as the next-door gamer neighbor screaming to his games at night).

I have to diligently study if I want to graduate and get my ass out of this shithole (dominated by an abuser who gets off on her daughter saying "thank you" for providing her with basic needs).

 sometimes I just assemble my flute and line up some songs, and then figure out what keys they're in.

Do Me A Favor is in E♭ minor, with G♭ as the base key... this is always the most difficult key for me to play in because I'm not used to it in my secondary school band.

on a side note, I've had my Yamaha YFL-221 since May 2008 (gotten it for my 17th birthday) and I sent it for maintenance servicing every two years or so... but then the last service I sent it for was in 2014. And now one of the higher-notes mechanisms has... broken? All in all, many parts of my olde flute look pretty scratched-up right now.

My capitalistic Asian parents tell me to treat playing the flute as a hobby, because academic achievements are what will get me a job. Well, here I am, still studying for an accountancy qualification. And if I want to send my flute for service soon, I'll have to pay the expenses out of my own pocket.

I've also been wondering whether it's time for me to get an intermediate flute, though part of me thinks I don't really need one. Then again, I've been playing since late 2003 (learned how to read notes, got out of practice visually in 2006, returned to playing by hearing in 2008). I want a flute with open keyholes and a B footjoint.

why does life have to be so expensive u_u

Sidenote: it feels really weird to not have the stress of exam upon you. When I was stressed about my Audit exam, I wrote and drew a lot. Now I'm just sitting around and occasionally losing myself in Terraria.

Maybe it's time I find a new stress-maker. My upcoming family trip, maybe.
